Clean Makeup Brushes

When’s the last time you cleaned your makeup brushes? If you can remember, now’s probably the time to do it. Our makeup brushes touch our faces almost every day, so it’s a good idea to clean them as often as possible.

But, rather than buy an expensive makeup cleaner, just gather your brushes and soak them in rubbing alcohol for half an hour. Once they’re done soaking, rinse them in a little bit of soap and water and let them air dry.

Calm Down Cold Sores

Cold sores always seem to pop up at the worse possible time. Whether it’s a big job interview, a wedding, or a date you’re really looking forward to, it’s never fun to wake up and realize you have a giant cold sore on your lip.

However, you can soothe and maybe even diminish them with just a little bit of rubbing alcohol. Take a cotton ball, soak it in the rubbing alcohol, and then dab the cold sore with it before you go to bed. When you wake up in the morning it might be gone!

Say Goodbye to Ticks

Most of us are hyper-vigilant about removing ticks off ourselves following a long hike or a night of camping, but dogs deal with ticks all the time. If you’re struggling to keep ticks off your dog, use rubbing alcohol to keep them at bay.

The next time you find a tick on your dog, put a small amount of rubbing alcohol on your dog’s body. This will loosen the tick’s grip, which will make it easier to remove, while also disinfecting your dog’s wound. Plus, it will kill the tick.

Home Eyeglass Cleaner

Do you wear glasses but don’t have an eyeglass cleaner? No worries, you can make a cleaner for yourself at home. All you need is about ¾ cup of rubbing alcohol, ¼ cup of water, and just a few drops of dish detergent, and voila, you have yourself a homemade eyeglass cleaner.

Put the solution into a spritz bottle and use it whenever your glasses get a little smudge. This isn’t just super easy to make, it’ll also save you some money too!

Clean Laminate Floors

How often would you say you actually clean your floors? Sure, you probably vacuum a few times a week, or maybe you’re an avid sweeper, but when’s the last time you scrubbed them clean?

If it’s been a while, don’t worry, because a little rubbing alcohol will help them look sparkling clean in no time. Just mix rubbing alcohol with water, dish soap, and vinegar, and you have yourself a great floor cleaner. Spray a little bit on the floor and then use a sponge or mop.
